What is a Boomerang?
First, we suggest that you understand what Boomerang is on Instagram and how this add-on works.
"Boomerang" is a new feature for creating live-shots. With this add-on, users of the social network can create vibrant moving pictures, gifs. The result is a short looped movie, it is created from several quickly shot pictures taken in a row. The resulting photos are collected in a small video in the order they were taken, and then played back from start to finish and back.
Thus, Boomerang creates an interesting video in seconds.
Application developers advise their users to shoot various moving objects - find something moving, for example, a car or your friend diving into a pool, take a selfie. Thanks to this addition, the cars will move forward and backward, and your friend will emerge from the pool up! These are really cool pictures!

How to make a Boomerang on Instagram in History
If you want to create a Boomerang and publish it in your story, you can use this method. Open the application and log in to Instagram. Open the news feed by clicking on the first button in the control panel. In its form, it resembles a house. At the top left corner you can see the image of a small camera near the name of the application. Clicking on it will take you to the online camera.
Point your phone’s camera at the subject you want to capture. Please note that there is a panel at the bottom that allows you to choose shooting options. You need to go to the Boomerang tab to do this, you can scroll to the left or just click on the inscription.
Give a start signal to the subject and hold down the button to shoot. A blinking screen means that Instagram takes several photos in order to subsequently combine them into a cool video. When the action of your object ends, release the button. In a few seconds, your screen will have a cool story ready for which you can select various filters, add inscription, emoticons and stickers.
You can either save it to your phone or immediately publish it to the story. And if “Boomerang” on Instagram doesn’t work or you can’t shoot a cool shot the first time, use the Boomerang application, which will be discussed below.

Unfortunately, you can shoot an online “Boomerang” only in history; you cannot create an online photo with this interesting effect in a feed. But there is a special application for this, developed by the creators of the social network. So, this is another way to make a “Boomerang” on Instagram:
- From the AppStore or PlayMarket, install the Boomerang app on your phone. Launch the app. From it you can create cool live photos by the same principle.
- Save the finished live image to the gallery. You can also publish it directly to the feed if you log in to your Instagram account.
- After saving the image, run the application. By clicking on the publication of a new photo, select the desired video from the gallery and upload. In the stream, your “Boomerang” will be marked as a regular video, nevertheless it will look very cool.
