In the People's Republic of China, more than 180 airports operate. Their number is increasing every year, due to population growth and increasing influx of tourists to this country. Only the largest cities in China have modern docks for receiving liners from abroad . Airports with international status are owned by cities, which we will talk about in the material presented.
Beijing
We will begin to survey China's international airports from the main metropolitan air harbor of the same name, Beijing. The airport is located at a distance of 25 km from the central point of the city. The presented item not only plays the role of the main aviation gateway, which opens the gate to the world for China, but also is the main dock for most local airlines that serve domestic flights.
Initially, the airport had the only terminal built back in 1958. The presented dock was able to serve up to 60 flights per day. However, a significant increase in passenger traffic led to the need to expand the airport. Therefore, in 1999, a second terminal was built, equipped according to the latest standards. Its area amounted to more than 336,000 m 2 . Thus, the terminal was able to serve an unthinkable number of passengers - about 26.5 million people a year. To this day, other major airports in China cannot even approach such a prohibitive bandwidth.
The capital's airport regularly receives liners from more than six dozen airlines from around the world. About 70 foreign flights and up to 90 domestic flights are available to passengers here.
Shoudou
Considering the airports of China, the country's international air harbors, it is worth paying attention to another metropolitan aviation dock located 20 km away from Beijing. There are 3 terminals on the territory of the terminal. The first 2 are used exclusively for servicing domestic flights. Another provides passenger service in international destinations.
It is worth noting that Beijing Capital Airport is in second place on the list of the largest airports in the world. The fleet of reputable airlines such as United Airlines, Air China, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, Lufthansa is partially based here. As for domestic carriers, there are representative offices of S7 Airlines and Aeroflot on the territory of the international complex.
Hong Kong Airport
Continuing to survey the airports of China, let's talk about the terminal of Hong Kong. The presented dock has the status of one of the main hub centers for moving passengers around the world. It is this terminal that is recognized as the best in the country, according to business people, as well as travelers who fly to China for tourism.
Hong Kong Airport is not only a large-scale transshipment point for airliners from all over the globe, but also occupies a leading position among the country's aviation docks according to the volume of cargo transportation. During the day more than 650 aircraft take off and land here. Despite such a high load on air transport, the developed, modern infrastructure of the airport allows serving tens of thousands of passengers per day.
Pudong
Concluding our survey of China's largest airports with international status, let's talk about Shanghai's main air harbor called Pudong. The presented airport is located at a distance of 30 km from the city center. It is located on an area of about 40 km 2 .
On average, the terminal passes through up to 400 airliners per day. At the same time, the aviation harbor is responsible for the takeoff and landing of 60% of aircraft in Shanghai. The remaining part of the liners falls on the other aviation dock of the city - Hong-qiao.
Pudong Airport regularly receives liners from more than 50 airlines. The latter connect Shanghai with 60 Chinese cities and provide flights to 70 international destinations.
