This addition to Internet browsers is one of the most important tools for comfortable surfing and playing multimedia elements. However, in some cases, it is not possible to install Adobe Flash Player. An installation error with a corresponding notification signals this very clearly. What is the reason for the failure and how to fix the situation, read on.
Adobe Flash Player: installation error. What is the reason?
First, a few words about the causes of this kind of error. Download Adobe Flash Player - far from all that is needed for its correct installation, because even the official distribution downloaded from the developer's resource often does not want to be installed. Why?
Among the obvious failures when trying to install this extension, there are several main ones:
- unofficial distribution;
- the presence of an already installed version;
- lack of system and browser updates;
- included antivirus and firewall.
Based on this, we can offer several solutions to the problem with the addition of Adobe Flash Player. The installation error may pop up even because at the time of installation (after downloading the file from the official portal) all browsers should be turned off. This is the first and foremost condition.
In some cases, it is not enough just to exit the corresponding program. As an additional method, you need to use the "Task Manager", in which you should complete all the processes associated with web browsers (especially if there are several of them in the system).
Initialization error when installing Adobe Flash Player: checking the distribution and version of the web browser
No less important is downloading the distribution kit exclusively from the official developer resource. If you download Adobe Flash Player from some other unofficial or unreliable source, there will be no guarantee of a correct installation. And in some situations, you can even get a virus.
But that is not all. The file downloaded for installation must exactly match the existing system. In other words, you won’t be able to install the add-on designed for Windows on a Mac system (as well as vice versa).
In addition, there is another aspect related to the extension of Adobe Flash Player. Versions for Windows 7 often require a normal installation only if there is no previous version in the system. If there is one, it must be completely removed. And for this it is advisable not to use your own system uninstaller, which can be accessed in the programs and components section, but to seek help from more advanced utilities such as iObit Uninstaller, which automatically delete all files and registry keys remaining after uninstalling. Only after that the new version will be installed normally.
Another point is that sometimes the system and the browser require updates. The system should perform a manual search for the latest updates, as well as install the latest modification of the web browser itself.
Install the official version of the player
After all the above actions, you need to go to the adobe.com resource and select the link to download the Adobe Flash Player distribution file from below. An installation error may appear in the future if the restrictions somehow relate to geolocation (for example, such problems can be found in Crimea).
In this situation, you can simply use anonymous proxy servers to download the file, and completely disconnect the connection at the time of installation.
Disable protection
Finally, another issue inherent in the Adobe Flash Player extension. An installation error may consist only in the fact that the distribution itself is unofficial. Some antiviruses and the Windows firewall may block the execution of such files.
As already understood, during installation, both components need to be simply disabled, and then involved again. In addition, when starting the installation file on Windows 7 and higher, you need to use the right-click menu with execution as administrator.
Check the settings
Finally, upon completion of all the processes associated with the installation, you should go to the browser extensions section and make sure that the installed plug-in is in an active state (enabled). This can be either Flash Player itself or Shockwave Player. In any case, it is not recommended to use both extensions at the same time, although there is nothing wrong with most well-known browsers.
If after all that has been used as a means of eliminating problems with the impossibility of installing this plugin, the problem remains, it is very likely that the system will have to be checked for viruses or errors. However, as practice shows, in most cases this is not necessary. In addition, even after installing the add-on, rebooting the system as such is not required.
