Puppet Theater (Nizhny Novgorod) has been around for almost 90 years. His repertoire includes performances for young children and schoolchildren, as well as for adults.
Theater History
Nizhny Novgorod has a considerable number of diverse troupes today. Puppet theater was opened here in 1929. Its creators were Tatyana Ivanovna and George Appolinarievich Yavorovsky. The theater wandered for a long time along other people's stage venues and only in 1954 received its own building. And in 1979, a special building was built for him, in which he is still located.
In 1944, the theater was headed by actress N.A. Sokoloverova. She was the creator of the very first performance in which the actors worked with cane dolls.
The first puppet show for adults dates back to 1956. She was very successful and remained in the repertoire of 40 years.
Today the director of the theater is Alexander Sergeyevich Garyanov. He led the troupe of Magnitogorsk and Saratov. And in 2005 he arrived in Nizhny Novgorod. Puppet theater today, as before, is very popular.
He takes part in festivals, collaborates with modern playwrights, composers and artists. Artists successfully tour. Some puppets of the theater participated in world exhibitions and were awarded medals.

New Year
This season, the New Year’s performance at the Puppet Theater (Nizhny Novgorod) was called "The magic of Christmas bells." The main characters of the holiday were three clowns - December, January and February. They acquainted the boys and girls with circus strongmen, with whom they could measure their strength. Round dances, dances and songs by the Christmas tree awaited the children. They had to meet with the wizard. Visit the Water and Nightingale the Robber. And at the end of the performance, the children themselves became wizards.
Ticket prices ranged from 250 to 400 rubles.
Viewers left extremely positive feedback on the performance. They noted that the holiday was wonderful, interesting, the artists were magnificent. The audience is very satisfied and next year they are going to go to the New Year's holiday with the children in the puppet theater.
