But these are rather not optical devices, because their glasses have a special coating that converts the image. Sometimes people with visual impairments can order goggles with optical lenses - such devices will not only correct vision, but also take care of their protection.

Science took a long step forward, and in 2010, American scientists developed a tool to combat blindness in older people - an optical device that integrates directly into the retina. This tiny telescope compensates for the damaged areas of the eye, and the healthy part of the eye continues to be responsible for peripheral vision. The brain combines the data into one picture - and a person sees a full-fledged image.

At the beginning of the 17th century, Galileo invented the simplest optical device - a magnifying glass, thanks to which it was already possible to observe the activity of microorganisms. Since then, of course, the optical microscope has undergone significant transformations, and today it already has two astigmatic lenses that do not distort the image with strong
light refraction, but give an objective picture. A modern microscope is connected to a computer using a USB-connector, so that it is almost not like the invention of the brilliant Italian, but has the same principle of operation at its core.
Optical devices were invented in order to facilitate the everyday life of ordinary people, to help them consider what the human eye is not always able to see.
