The Drama Theater (Kamensk-Uralsky) has existed since 1943. His repertoire is designed not only for adults, but also for children. The troupe of the theater has wonderful artists.
History
The professional theater began to function in the war years. The city of Kamensk-Uralsky accepted the troupe of Lev Elston, which was formed in 1924, for permanent residence and work. Initially, it was a theater of not only drama, but also comedy. Its name has repeatedly changed. First it was Leo Eston's Troupe, then Ural Worker, Drama Number Three. The latter was returned to the theater in 2006, and with it he "lives" today. Initially, the troupe gave visiting performances in the mines, factories and mines of the Urals. The drama theater (Kamensk-Uralsky) in the first years of its existence showed the audience performances based on plays by E. Zol, A. Lunacharsky, E. Voinich, A. Ostorovsky, N. Gogol, M. Gorky and A. Chekhov. During the war, artists toured with the front-line brigade and performed in front of the fighters. Many actors died during such performances under shelling and bombing. In the years 50-70, the drama theater (Kamensk-Uralsky) offered its viewers performances based on classical and modern plays. In the 80-90 years. The troupe leader was Yu. Kuzhelev. Under him, the repertoire consisted of foreign and Russian classics. After he left his post, the theater turned into a commercial one. The new leader tried to introduce a Western model of work, which affected the troupe negatively. The result was not as expected. The model did not take root. In 2005, the new administration had to rebuild the theater and re-develop the repertoire. Artists today actively participate in various festivals of regional, All-Russian and International significance. The theater is full of many ideas.

Projects
The Drama Theater (Kamensk-Uralsky) is the organizer of various projects. One of them is Journey in the Backstage. This is a tour for children and adults.
