It is urgent for a man to give answers to unresolved questions: what is the meaning of his existence, is there God, what awaits him on the other side, from where, or by whose desire, the Universe originated? There were such outpourings of thoughts as science, philosophy, religion. A person is driven by a desire to receive answers to questions and nothing more.
Progress
The theory of progress, a new understanding of the world, turns the subjective side of humanity into the objective. Progress forces us to abandon the idea that man is the pinnacle of everything, and to explain to people that they are only a particle of a single apparatus, a brick particle in brickwork. This positive point of view is an attempt to make a person believe in a bright future. But unfortunately, neither the materialists, nor those who are truly seeking answers, the theory of progress does not seem so joyful. Living for what will be good for someone in the future is not such a strong motivator for an objectively thinking person. Being just fertilizer for posterity is a joyless identification. Progress cannot give any answers to questions of being either. The meaning of life should be eternal and not burdened by hardships, and progress does not play this role. Eternity is incomprehensible to the human mind, since the thought of its own mortality cannot be assimilated into it. He does not care about the immortality of the world, the Universe, while he himself is mortal.
