WMV format is a video format from Windows. It can include both audio and video, and even all taken and compressed together. It uses two encodings: either MPEG-2 or MPEG-4. WMV is sometimes compared with AVI, noting the obvious advantage of the first over the second - because it has many add-ons that significantly expand the capabilities of the video file. WMV has additional protection against unauthorized copying.
Since this format is from Windows, it is played by default on this operating system. And although there is no such possibility in the “pure” “Android” (alas, what kind of video format does “Android” support, was considered at the beginning of the article, and there are no WMVs among the indicated ones), there are no problems with the necessary application downloaded. This may be, for example, KMPlayer, which is recommended for installation on a PC as well; RealPlayer or VitalPlayer.
