It is he who believes that it’s not bad at all if verbal mistakes of TV presenters sometimes occur, because then the viewer knows for sure: there is a living person in front of him talking to him now, and not in the recording. It is he who is convinced that he is obliged to do everything better than anyone else, regardless of what is at stake: either about his morning program, or about the soup that he cooks for his eldest son. Meet Sergey Babaev, who became popular overnight by starting the non-political program “Other News”.
Children and teenagers
The future star of Russian television was released October 16, 1976 in Moscow in a family of ordinary Soviet engineers. He studied well at school, was a diligent and hardworking boy. As a teenager, he somehow very quickly decided on his profession in adulthood. In the last grades of the school, Sergey Babaev started to study biology, because it was with her that he linked his future destiny. After graduating from high school, a young man enters biology faculty at Moscow State University.
A sharp turn in life
It seemed that becoming a university student, at that time he achieved everything he wanted. Indeed, the dream seemed to be steadily coming true. But he did not manage to devote his entire life to science. It was in that year that the NTV company was formed. Sergey Babaev instantly makes an important decision that radically changed his existence once and for all. He goes there to work as an administrator.
This sharp turn was unexpected for Sergey, because he was used to taking all serious steps only after carefully considering the situation. But that time it turned out differently. The magical and fascinating world of television suddenly seemed to Babaev much more interesting and attractive than the biology he had long loved.
It is not surprising that in a very short time Sergey Babaev transferred to the faculty of journalism, because now he was sure that he really wanted his life to go in the immediate vicinity of the blue screen, from his unusual world. New interesting, but difficult work took up a considerable amount of time and effort. For study, there was practically nothing left. The result was that instead of the standard five years, the young student devoted ten whole years to his studies.
Love affair at work
For some time he worked on NTV as an assistant director. No, no, and yes his eyes fixed on a pretty girl who worked there as a secretary. And it seemed that the heart began to beat a little faster when Sergei was not far from her. He was not so long ago nineteen years old, but he immediately realized that this girl named Irina was his fate. He sought her for two years, until she finally gave up. They have been married for 18 years. Despite the fact that the couple had difficult times, they never scolded.
At the beginning of family life, they lived very modestly, but Sergey Eduardovich Babaev never received comments and reproaches from his wife about this. And many years after their marriage, he realized by personal example that the main thing in any marriage is not only love, which can transform somewhat over the years, but also respect for spouses to each other. He believes that it’s okay to look after a beautiful, slender girl. But no more than that. After all, even in the most charming woman you can find some flaws. But in a beloved woman, such shortcomings are not only not annoying, but on the contrary, they can find a special charm.
Procreation
The Babaev family brings up two children - the eldest son and youngest daughter. Nikita was born three years after the marriage, Lisa was born six years later. On this they decided to stop. Indeed, in order to educate independent, intelligent children, one must work very well. They constantly need to be addressed. Although his wife Irina is mainly engaged in raising children, dad, Sergey Babaev, is trying to devote as much time as possible to them. The presenter often plays with them. Irina, however, took upon herself this difficult but very precious mission to educate her little ones and copes with it wonderfully.
The best vacation for the Babayev family is in the country. It is there that they rest with all their heart. And this is not surprising. Indeed, in an interview, Sergei said that he built almost everything on a summer cottage (the only exception is the house), with his own hands.
TV career
For eight years, from 1993 to 2001, Babaev worked in the sports editorial office (NTV channel). He has been a sports news editor for several television programs.
He took a direct part in covering the events at a number of Olympic Games - in 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2006, as a correspondent, journal diary, and sports journalist.
For two years (2002 and 2003) he worked as a correspondent in the news block of TVS TV channel. When there was a terrorist attack in the theater center on Dubrovka, he covered hostage taking among many journalists on the channel, telling about the incident and the latest events that were related to the terrorist attack on the air.
Road to First
After the channel closed, in the summer of 2003 he switched to Channel One, where he still works today. For the first three years, Sergei was a special correspondent for the Channel One Information Programs Directorate. His works are noticeable in the programs "Times", "News" and "Time". At that time, Babayev’s specialization was coverage of meetings of the Government of Russia. At the same time, he worked on meetings on the topic of ecology, space and science.
For almost eight years, Sergey Babaev was the host of a program that provided non-political information to viewers (“Other News”). The nationality of fans of this program is the most diverse. These are not only Russians, but also Belarusians, Moldavians, Ukrainians, Armenians, Poles, Azerbaijan and many others. After all, interesting information has no boundaries.
Now he is one of the presenters of the Good Morning program, which appears on Channel One.
