St. Petersburg is the heart of Russian ballet. At the Mariinsky Theater, ballet art stars demonstrate their skills. Among the stars of the Russian ballet scene is the name of Farukh Ruzimatov, director of ballet performances and dancer of the Rostov Opera and Ballet Theater and former prime minister of the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg.
The birth of the "dancing leopard"
The biography of Farukh Ruzimatov is practically not presented in accessible sources - only insignificant passages. The world size of Russian ballet, a native of Tashkent - the capital of the Uzbek SSR, Farukh Saddulaevich Ruzimatov in 2018 celebrates his 55th birthday. Information about Ruzimatov’s childhood and adolescence has not been published anywhere.
He began his career in a profession at the Agrippina Yakovlevna Vaganova Ballet School (now the Academy of Russian Ballet) in the class of G. Selyutsky. In the photo Farukh Ruzimatov is presented at the time of preparation for the next performance. The rehearsal is held with the participation of the famous dancer and choreographer Andris Liepa.
In 1981 he graduated from college and entered the service at the Opera and Ballet Theater. S. M. Kirova (now Mariinsky) in Leningrad. And five years later he became his soloist. A little later I got the opportunity to collaborate with the American Ballet Theater. The period of his "Mariinsky" activity lasted about fifteen years.

On October 17, 2018, the first and already unique concert took place in the St. Petersburg Great Concert Hall "October" , in which its organizers - People's Artist of the RSFSR Farukh Ruzimatov and Ukrainian artist and director Denis Matvienko managed to collect three generations of unique Russian dancers and dancers at once 21st century ballet. The gala concert organized in St. Petersburg was a tremendous success. It is supposed that in the event of sufficient demand, such concerts will be made traditional. The best performance of Jose Limon provided the opportunity for Farukh Ruzimatov to plunge into the magic of the tragic images of William Shakespeare. Thanks to the talent of the dancer, the genius Othello was created in the performance. And the music of the English composer Henry Purcell makes the ballet quite classical, with all the director's innovative approaches. Over time, the symbolism presented in Pavan becomes more and more stable and perceived by the viewer.
The performance is designed for one act. It preserves the traditional form of pavans - a slow ceremonial dance based on solemn transitions and regrouping of participants, united by symbols of plastic, facial expressions, energy and ... a scarf, around which the plot of the tragedy develops.
"City for one"
Another interesting work by Farukh Ruzimatov. This performance was staged at the Rostov Theater by Nikita Dmitrievsky to contemporary music created by an international trio: Brazilian, Portuguese and French, in an innovative manner. The performance is conditional and, in fact, plotless. It raises the problem of human loneliness among the realities of a huge anthill city, a man left alone with his fears and experiences - the products of a giant octopus city.
The plastic language of Dmitrievsky, implemented in Ruzimatov’s plastic, is unusual and complex. However, a talented performer does not get tired of learning everything new.

Farukh Ruzimatov’s career as a unique ballet dancer is associated with the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky theaters in St. Petersburg.
Since 2014, the dancer and director F. Ruzimatov headed the Rostov Opera and Ballet Theater. As an artistic director for a short period, he was able to greatly update the repertoire and introduce unique performances into it, in which he himself entered the stage after a long period of inactivity.
Back in 2006, Farukh Ruzimatov opened a charity fund - "Revival of Dance Art". He established scholarships for talented young people in the ballet field. First of all, to students and graduates of their native "Vaganovka". Ruzimatov invited the best teachers - world celebrities to conduct master classes in opera houses of St. Petersburg. F. S. Ruzimatov served as chairman of the foundation until 2011.

There is nothing more about the personal life of the dancer and director in the publications.
