In the process of assembling his first fishing rod, almost every angler asks this question: “How to tie a float to the fishing line?” A lot depends on the correct choice of its design, as well as the correct attachment to gear. There are two types of installation: deaf and sliding. The first is most rationally used in stagnant water, for example in lakes or bays, where the flow is either absent or so insignificant that it can be neglected. But when the surface of the reservoir is troubled, it is better to use the sliding method.
Classification
Before tying the float to the fishing line, we will find out what types of them are available today. And there are really a lot of them, and there is plenty to choose from. The following modifications are most common:
- "Penguin" or "Cheburashka." They are very similar. Even experiencedsometimes fishermen cannot distinguish them from each other. In appearance, these are fairly long floats that gradually taper towards one end. They perfectly combine stability and sensitivity. Most often they are used for significant fluctuations in the surface of the reservoir.
- Thumbelina is an excellent solution for calm still water. In such a situation, the easiest way to determine the moment when the fish begins to peck by the float.
- The "calm" is long and thin. It has excellent sensitivity, well suited for fishing at a depth of 1.5 to 3 meters.
- "Maestro" - is a truncated cone. Differs in the increased stability. Ideal for fishing at depths of up to 1.5 meters. Its minus is that it is immediately difficult to determine the bite.
Float Selection Technique
The choice of a float is made based on 2 factors - the surface of the surface of the water and the fish that you plan to catch. For example, if you plan to catch carp on a float in
relatively troubled water, then the Maestro is best suited for this. Carp is a big fish, and when you bite it, twitches will be perfectly visible. If the purpose of fishing is crucian or perch, then it is better to choose "Cheburashka" or "Penguin." On them it will be easier to notice the twitching of the float from such a small fish.
Fishing line
How to tie a float to a fishing line? With the sliding method, it is possible to move along the entire length of the fishing line. In practice, this method of attachment is used if there is a strong current or there is a significant fluctuation in the water surface. If the blind mounting method is used, then the movement of the float is limited to a small area of fishing line. This method is used when fishing in stagnant water or in a pond with a small current. The following mounting methods are distinguished:
- due to the design of the float;
- using special rings (rubber bands with a nipple or insulation with a wire, for example);
- using knots from the fishing line.
The easiest way to attach a float to a fishing line is to use a special float design. For this, special ears or a hole are provided in the float. A fishing line is threaded through them, and at the same time it is fixed on it. This method is used on industrial products. The second method is similar to the previous one, but it is used on makeshift devices. These two methods are used with sliding mount. The latter consists in the fact that a float is placed in the gap of the fishing line and is fastened with knots on both sides. It can only be used with blind mounting.
