Purse seine: definition, type. characteristics, exploitation features and nuances of fishing

Fishing on an industrial scale with a fishing rod is quite difficult. Most often, networks and other similar designs are used for this. Wallet net is the most popular because it is suitable for catching fish of different species.

For a purse seine

What it is?

The wallet net is a net-cloth, which is usually pulled together by a cable in the lower part. Thanks to this, a peculiar bag (purse) is formed, into which the fish gets. To get it out of the wallet, you can use the net (if there is not much) or a special fish pump.

The size of the net depends on several factors (usually not less than 3.5 diameters of the circulation of an industrial vessel):

  • ship size;
  • the type of fish that will be caught (the faster it is, the longer the net must be).

The material for the manufacture of such a device is kapron del (it is made from fishing or other thin threads, which subsequently form rows of identical cells called cells).

Wallet net

The length of the net is usually 200-500 m, and the height depends on the depth of the reservoir. It is believed that the minimum height is 12-14% of the length. Moreover, the longer the structure, the lower the allowable ratio between the linear parameters of the net. High-walled structures are characterized by a ratio of 0.3-0.35.

Purpose and essence

Purse seine is used exclusively for industrial and sports fishing. The essence of this invention is as follows:

  • during operation, the net is folded in front of the note in height;
  • at the end, the net part opens.

For this purpose, a net is used with a top selection with overlay, with a bottom selection with sinkers.

Wallet net

The purpose of using such a design is to increase the efficiency of fishing while reducing the repelling effect on fish by the mesh structure during the notice. A similar effect is achieved by the fact that the net is lowered into the water when folded, and only then dissolved into a working state.

Kinds

Purse seines differ not only in size, but also in shape. At the moment, there are the following varieties of nets:

  • equidistant with seated wings. When planted, they have the shape of a regular rectangle. During operation, the gag parts and the cable tie rise, so that the height of the gag is not used in the future;
  • uneven. Most purse seines are of this type. This design allows you to speed up the selection of klyachnyh parts, than to reduce the likelihood of winding the canvas on the cable, and therefore, the conditions for wallet will be improved;
  • curly shape with the same or different height of nags. In this case, the seine in the central part has a greater height than that of nags. A similar effect is achieved by attaching bottom netting plates, which usually have the shape of a trapezoid;
  • bezlevyachnye. The nags have a height of zero. Such a height is possible due to shrinkage or corresponding cutting of the net of the net.

In addition to the described species, extreme drain seines are distinguished, which consist of two parts - a plum and a wing. In the first part, the fish is concentrated and dried. In some designs, the discharge is in the form of a bag. Wings consist of several sections.

Norwegian net design

The Norwegian wallet net design is characterized by the presence of cork floats on the top pick. Lead weights are located below. Also, metal rings can be suspended from the bottom selection. During fishing with a purse seine, a cable is passed through them, which allows you to tighten the net of the net. After raising the lower rebound, a closed wallet is formed, inside of which the fish will be located.

Such a net design is considered classic.

What does the Japanese variation look like?

In the Soviet industry, it is the Japanese version of the net that is used. Differences from the Norwegian wallet net design are in the shape and presence of two middle rings with swivels (a connecting link of two parts of the mechanism, allowing one of them to rotate along its axis). The end of the cable is attached to one of these rings (it will subsequently tighten the net and close the fish trap), and the second ring will serve as an abutment for the larger ring (it is located on the tightening cable). The first ring is responsible for tightening the spot half of the cable, and the second for the beige half of the net.

Advantages and disadvantages

The benefits of using a wallet net are many:

  • catch a large number of fish in a short period of time;
  • the ability to catch fast fish;
  • a wide range of designs, thanks to which you can choose a net that is suitable for specific conditions;
  • maneuverability.

There is only one drawback when using this type of net: the possibility of the jamb coming out (in most cases it is possible to leave parts of the jamb) from the swept area. Therefore, fishers can enter the fishery with a purse seine only with a certain level of qualification and experience both in the management of the vessel and in the installation of gear.

Features of use

Wallet fishing is carried out according to this principle:

  1. A large jamb should be surrounded by a network that descends directly from the side of the vessel.
  2. After this, the screed of the bottom of the net is screed.
  3. Next, the catch is raised to the deck. To select a purse seine, either a fish pump or a net net (it is also called a kapler) is used.

During operation of such a design, they are guided by one rule - the choice of the correct point of notice, where a large number of fish accumulate.

The whole process takes no more than 10 minutes (not including the rise of the fish onto the vessel), after which the cable is pulled tight. For sampling a wallet net, a non-sampling machine (it in most cases has an electric drive) develops a power of 2 kW. That is, a net of 500 m in length with a fish catch will rise in about 20 minutes.

Purse Seine Design

Such fishing requires some experience and dexterity, since you need to try to cover as many fish as possible at a time.

Some difficulties may arise during fishing:

  • Demolition of networks towards a drifting vessel over the course. To prevent a similar situation, you need to use a floating anchor (an iron barrel can play its role), it will spread the net;
  • leaving the school in the β€œgate”, which were formed by the edges of the net (to prevent this from happening, you can not leave the distance between the edges of the net)

The whole process takes no more than 10 minutes, after which the cable is tightened.

Net Seine Fishing

Such fishing requires highly skilled fishermen, experience, skill and certain knowledge about the design of the net and how to use it. Despite this, purse seine fishing is highly effective in combination with minimal time costs.
