History
In 1988, the Chamber Theater (Chelyabinsk) was founded . Its address is 15. Zwilling Street, 15. It is one of the youngest theaters in the city. The idea of its creation was born from a group of actors of the Chelyabinsk Youth Theater, led by Evgeny Falevich. They compiled a manifesto in which they expressed their desire to have a chamber scene. The first performance of this troupe was the work of John Marell's "Scream of lobsters." This production attracted the attention of viewers and critics. At first the theater had no stage. The troupe rented random rooms, played and rehearsed right on the streets, in the yards, even in children's recreation camps.
Finally, in 1991, the Chamber Theater received its premises. The first performance, which was played on its own stage, is “Archaeologists”, it was staged based on the play by A. Shipenko.
In 1992 - December 31 - the Chelyabinsk Chamber Theater received the status of a state. His repertoire has always included plays by classic playwrights as well as contemporaries. The theater constantly collaborates with the most prominent directors of our country. Actors actively participate in various festivals and competitions. They often become laureates or owners of special prizes. Since 1992, the Chamber Theater has been hosting an international festival called Camerata. It is held annually. He actively tours the country and happens with his performances in other countries to the Chamber Theater (Chelyabinsk). The city of Chelyabinsk has long been famous for talented actors. The chamber theater is represented by 22 bright and versatile actors. Three of them have the title of Honored Artist of Russia. These are Akchurina Zulfiya, Viktor Nagdasev and Mikhail Yakovlev. Main director
Victoria Meshchaninova graduated in 1970 from the Institute of Culture in Leningrad. And in 1980 - graduate school at the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography, which at that time was headed by G. A. Tovstonogov and A. I. Katsman. After studying, Victoria Nikolaevna returned to Chelyabinsk. The Chamber Theater today produces its performances precisely under her strict guidance. She is the main director. Victoria Nikolaevna in 2004 was awarded the title "Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation".
In 1983, with the participation of V. Meshchaninova, the Chelyabinsk Zwilling Drama Theater staged "Little Tragedies" by Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. In the same year, Victoria Nikolaevna received the post of director in the Youth Theater. Her productions “Chaadaev's Candlestick”, “Entrance” and “Fatal Mistake” enjoyed special popularity and love among the young audience.
Since 1991, Victoria Nikolaevna held the position of chief director of the Chamber Theater. And from 2006 to 2010 she combined the work of the director with the role of artistic director. V. Meshchaninov is a creative, troubled personality; her theater is truly authorial. She interprets each work in her own way. In addition to directing, Victoria Nikolaevna teaches at the Chelyabinsk Institute of Culture at the Department of Theater Arts, she is a professor. Most of the Chamber Theater troupe is made up of its graduates.
Camerata
Many theater festivals and competitions are held by Chelyabinsk. Chamber Theater is actively involved in many of them. But besides this, he himself came up with, organized and annually holds a festival called Camerata. It was first held in 1992. In that year, only productions of the Chamber Theater itself took part in the festival. During the one week that the festival lasted, the troupe showed its entire repertoire in order to attract the attention of spectators and critics. And the theater really was not left without attention. Many fans got acquainted with his work at this festival.
The second time Camerata was held in 1994. Then the first guests who came to show themselves from Magnitogorsk and Moscow itself took part in the festival. Now Camerata is gathering participants from all over the world, and eminent actors come every time, such as: Valentina Talyzina, Lev Durov, Irina Alferova, Alexander Kalyagin, Alexander Filippenko.
